SENTOSA NSSC AMAZING RACE…..YAHOO!!!
Thursday, June 8th, 2006Today was amazing day. On arrival, I sense dark clouds forming as a sign to deter my adventure in sentosa that was planned by the committed and loving friends and pals in NSSC. Original team was having me, Sherwyn, Jia Yuan(IC), Ann and Jolene. Not a bad team i pressume, but Jolene on MC?!
Well we see the bright side of this situation, as we thought 4 people can get cab to sentosa, and we thought… haha a little re-shuffling to the teams the organiser Mr YY, did, Alvan joined us.
Preparing ourselves at the passing out parade, after a few talks about the game and safety…phew….i can’t stand long talks. It was time to leave.
First impression; wow i feel this is like some sort of role playing game. Haha.
A horn was sounded and we went off. Upon getting to the road, first plan was to get on 145 to Harbourfront interchange for the bus trip to sentosa. Lucky us, the bus was there. Again we reach the bus interchange, the bus to sentosa was there waiting, all this seem to be a good sign and morale for the team.
Deciphering the first clue, it was about some ancient lost civilisation story. We came with 1 conclusion that is the Lost Civilisation/Ruined City Area will be our first Gamemaster we should approach. Then Alvan gave the idea its at the Enchanted Grove of Tembusu. As it was in the way towards Lost Civilsation, we thought we give it a try at there. We proceed to Tembusu but no one was there, but we did take a photo at there. Then we move on to the Lost Civilisation. Hey! The gamemaster, MR Voodoo will be at there. We made speculation on who will be Mr Voodoo….we thought it might be Andy….guess we guess wrong, it was Mingben; his game was a puzzle at 3 shelter huts, we suppose to solve it and each hut holding 2 pieces that can be trade to among each hut to solve all 3 pictures. It was quite okay as we manage to solve it.
Then we move along to find Snow White, the next GM. The path to there was tidious, quite insane just to go up stairs and uphill. When we reach, just as we expected it was Mickey. His quiz was a few questions that ask about things in and around our lifes, we had 4 newpapers on floor, representing some sort of our numbers of chances. Some question was tough and we just manage to finish but we left 1 newspaper and Mickey claimed we had to forfeit if we cannot stand together on 1 newspaper but we try anyway with all boys outside and Ann in the middle, we manage and we score that quiz.
Then a terrible nightmare had happen when we going to 3rd point. We forgot and left out checklist at Mingben’s station. We decide to split up and meet up at 3rd point…
But thinking this is a team game. We went off together instead. Our document IC, Alvan forgot to keep the checklist and joked that we might had to do the forfeit tomorrow at the lunch buffet. We laughed and chatter along the road and get the checklist signed by Mickey before we approached 3rd station.
Kinda a long boring story if i type so detailed…
Well, each GM’s nick was fun to guess who would it be. I would say our team quite free and easy. We were given calls from GM claiming we were slow, I was abit low on morale but I pressed on and move on. We had lunch at Subway, tasty and simple. Then we saw 1 of the team who rent bicycles. Thinking its not a bad move but riding on buses is much more easier i think, less energy and money wasted.
Next point was to get to the beach then we came to ride station called the SkyRide. $4 a trip down. Seem like an adventurous trip to the beach, with short discussion we agree to take the ride. We break off into 2 group for the ride, JY and Ann in the front and the rest behind following the front. Haha we forget that I and Sherwyn are quite the heavyweight champs. We just sit and forgot to let Alvan sit in middle to balance the weight distribution. Our ride was quite breath-taking. The view was amazing and the tilted ride sit just makes the experience more exciting. Alvan was abit shaken with the tilted ride and bushes touching his legs as most tall trees would brush on him as he was nearer to the trees, hehehaha.
More calls telling us to move faster, this is kinda stressing, :X
At one of the game, i think we just gone berzerk and turn evil. Gonna keep that as a secret.
With last 4 stations we were kinda panicked as we fear we might had to do the forfeit.
Soon we reach Scott’s challenge, using strings to move a bucket of water to another bucket but not allowing us to touch within the radius of 1m to the destination bucket.
Using his scout skills, Sherwyn made a few special customized method of knots to secure the bucket. In a genius way we solved that challenge. I gotta mentioned that Scott’s location which is the Dragon Trail was quite a secluded one and hard to move in.
Last few stations was solve amazing fast. Then little raindrops sets in.
A real race for ending begins as we had another team on the same tram with us to the ending point.
We somehow lost to them but the result said by the Mr YY was that we are safe from doing the forfeit but the deductions of point may varied the result.
Well we are okay with it and maybe….just maybe we are safe.
We had a group photo and that ended our race. Quite tiring experience.
Thanks to our team, Super girl Ann(with the Superman logo Shirt), Adventurous Leader JY, Genius knotmaker Sherwyn and the one who keep on telling us to forfeit the game, Alvan haha…. It was a great team and playing experience, I enjoy the accompany and intro-action among with each other in the team.
THanks again to the Organiser Mr YY(3rd of Giant Super STAR), the Gamemasters and photographers and thoughtful committees for this game, this AMAZING RACE!!!!
1 big HoooRrrray for ya and kudos….! (^_^)V
